Dorna Sports and BMW have reached an agreement renewing their patnership and bring the German to be self MotoGP until 2016, extending a relationship that has lasted since 1999.
As the Official Car of the MotoGP World Championship, BMW M will continue to provide a total of six safety cars, two bikes and nine VIP Safety Shuttles in all European events, while for the overseas races will be two Safey Cars and Safety Bike. In 2011 the fleet will Guidara the new BMW 1 Series M and X6 M Coupe, with BMW that will also bring a hybrid Race for the Directorate.
The presence of BMW is not just in terms of vehicles but also with advertising on the track, stand in public access areas, and in the MotoGP VIP Village and Paddock.
The renovated BMW M Award will remain a goal of the World Cup, and once again reward the best driver in the premier class in qualifying at the end of the season. In 2010, the world champion Jorge Lorenzo won a BMW M3 Sedan after dominating the session, while in 2011 the winner will receive a BMW 1 Series M Coupe.
