Salento is the PUGLIA
The Salento is a peninsular region of south-eastern Apulia bagnata ad est dal mar Adriatico e ad ovest dallo Ionio. Il Salento geografico corrisponde alla vecchia Terra d'Otrant o che comprendeva tutta la Provincia di Lecce , quasi tutta quella di Brindisi e parte di quella di Taranto , secondo l'asse che congiunge Ostuni a Taranto .
Un territorio dalla vocazione turistica naturale come pochi capace di trasmettere stimoli e messaggi tra i più diversi, di affascinare con i miti e i segni dei popoli antichi, di interessare con le testimonianze e gli incroci delle culture del Mediterraneo. Ma anche di incuriosire con le opere grandiose dei maestri scalpellini, di attirare con i colori e i paesaggi del sole, di far sorridere con i sapori della tavola.
Scendendo da nord, il Salento è posto subito alle spalle del Tavoliere di Puglia, separato da questo attraverso i trulli che costituiscono un confine naturale fra queste due terre e che da Alberobello si diradano nelle campagne.
